Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Family Vault: Secure Docs, IDs ("Family Vault", "App", "we", "our", or "us").
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Family Vault, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Purpose of Family Vault
Family Vault is a document organization and management application designed to help users store, organize, manage, and track personal and family documents.
Depending on the version of the App, features may include:
- Document storage
- Document scanning or import
- Document categories
- ID and record organization
- Expiry and renewal reminders
- Search and filtering
- PIN or biometric access
- Cloud backup
- Document synchronization
- Premium document-management functionality
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws applicable to you.
If you use Family Vault on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. User Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Documents you upload, scan, store, or share
- Having lawful rights to documents you add
- Verifying document information
- Keeping your device and account secure
- Maintaining independent backups where appropriate
- Configuring reminder dates accurately
- Protecting your PIN, Apple Account, and device credentials
You must not use Family Vault to store, distribute, or share content that violates applicable laws or the rights of another person.
4. Not an Official Government Service
Family Vault is an independent document-management application.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Family Vault is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any government authority.
Storing an image or copy of an identification card, licence, certificate, or other government-issued record in Family Vault does not make the stored copy an official digital document.
Users should rely on the applicable issuing authority when an original or officially recognized document is required.
5. No Legal, Financial, Medical or Government Advice
Family Vault provides document organization and management tools only.
The App does not provide:
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Medical advice
- Insurance advice
- Tax advice
- Government advice
You remain responsible for verifying information and meeting your legal, financial, contractual, insurance, medical, and regulatory obligations.
6. Reminder Disclaimer
Family Vault may provide expiry, renewal, bill, warranty, or other reminders as a convenience.
Notification delivery may be affected by:
- Device settings
- Notification permissions
- Internet availability
- Operating system restrictions
- Battery optimization
- Incorrect dates entered by the user
- Technical interruptions
You remain responsible for independently monitoring important deadlines and renewal dates.
7. Document Accuracy
Family Vault does not guarantee the accuracy, validity, authenticity, completeness, or legal status of documents stored in the App.
If OCR or automatic data extraction functionality is offered, extracted information may contain errors. You should verify automatically extracted information before relying on it.
8. Free and Premium Features
Family Vault may provide free and paid features.
Free functionality may be subject to limitations involving:
- Number of documents
- Available categories
- Storage
- Backup
- Synchronization
- Premium functionality
Premium functionality may provide additional features as specified within the purchase interface.
The exact features associated with a subscription or purchase will be displayed before you confirm payment.
9. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
Family Vault may offer auto-renewable premium subscriptions.
Subscription plans may include:
- Weekly subscription
- Monthly subscription
- Annual subscription
The actual subscription duration and price available to you will be displayed in the App and Apple's App Store purchase interface before you confirm your purchase.
Payment
Payment will be charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed.
Automatic Renewal
Auto-renewable subscriptions automatically renew for another subscription period unless cancelled in accordance with Apple's subscription-management rules.
The applicable renewal price will be displayed by Apple and/or within the App purchase interface.
Managing or Cancelling Your Subscription
Subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store are managed through your Apple Account.
You can manage or cancel your subscription from:
iPhone or iPad Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions > Family Vault
Cancellation prevents future automatic renewals. Unless otherwise required by applicable law or Apple's policies, cancelling a subscription does not immediately terminate access already paid for during the current subscription period.
Restore Purchases
Where supported, you may restore eligible purchases associated with your Apple Account using the Restore Purchases option available within the App.
10. Free Trials and Introductory Offers
Family Vault may offer a free trial, introductory price, promotional discount, or other eligible subscription offer.
The duration of an introductory offer and the price charged after the offer ends will be displayed before you confirm the subscription.
Unless cancelled before renewal, an eligible trial or introductory subscription may automatically convert to a paid subscription at the displayed renewal price.
Eligibility for introductory or promotional offers is determined according to applicable App Store rules.
11. Subscription Price Changes
Subscription prices may change in the future.
Where required, Apple may provide notice or request your consent before applicable subscription price changes become effective.
12. Refunds
Purchases made through Apple's App Store are processed by Apple.
Refund requests for App Store purchases are subject to Apple's applicable refund policies and procedures.
We do not independently control Apple's approval or denial of a refund request.
13. Lifetime Purchase
If Family Vault offers a Lifetime In-App Purchase, "Lifetime" refers to access to the premium features associated with that purchase for the operational lifetime of the applicable Family Vault product or service, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
A Lifetime purchase is a one-time purchase and is not an auto-renewable subscription.
14. Cloud Backup and Synchronization
If Family Vault provides cloud backup or synchronization, you are responsible for maintaining appropriate account credentials and network access.
Although reasonable measures may be used to protect information, no cloud service can guarantee uninterrupted availability or complete protection against data loss.
You should retain independent copies of documents that are important or irreplaceable.
15. Document Sharing
If Family Vault provides document sharing or export functionality, you are responsible for selecting the appropriate recipient and ensuring you have the right to share the relevant information.
Once information is exported or shared with another application, service, or individual, the handling of that information may be outside our control.
16. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Family Vault to:
- Violate applicable laws or regulations
- Store or distribute unlawful content
- Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
- Misrepresent another person's identity
- Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
- Circumvent security controls
- Reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law
- Introduce malware or harmful code
- Abuse, overload, or disrupt the service
- Use the App for fraudulent purposes
17. Intellectual Property
Family Vault, including its software, design, graphics, branding, trademarks, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use Family Vault in accordance with these Terms.
Your personal documents remain yours.
18. Availability and Changes
We may improve, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features from time to time.
We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Family Vault is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- The App will always operate without interruption
- Every reminder will always be delivered
- Stored information will never be lost
- OCR or extracted information will always be accurate
- The App will satisfy every official or legal document requirement
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary losses resulting from use of or inability to use Family Vault.
This may include losses related to:
- Missed reminders
- Incorrect information entered by users
- Device loss
- Unauthorized device access
- User-initiated document sharing
- Third-party services
- Data loss outside our reasonable control
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
21. Termination
You may stop using Family Vault at any time.
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary due to serious violations of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security threats, or legal requirements.
Deleting your Family Vault account or uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store subscription.
You should separately cancel your subscription through your Apple Account settings if you no longer want it to renew.
22. Privacy Policy
Your use of Family Vault is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

23. Apple App Store Terms
If you download Family Vault through Apple's App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.
Apple is responsible for processing App Store purchases and subscriptions according to its applicable policies.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our services, applicable laws, or our business practices.
When updated, the "Last Updated" date shown above will be revised.
25. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by the laws applicable to [YOUR COMPANY/JURISDICTION], without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply in your country or region.
